UVC light from the sun can be dangerous for humans. Direct contact is harmful to the skin and the eyes. Thankfully, the ozone layer blocks this specific part of the light spectrum in the stratosphere around our earth, so UVC light cannot come into contact with people.

Nevertheless, UVC has unique benefits that can offer a solution to the COVID-19 pandemic. With years of knowledge and experience with UV light, the Ultrasun engineers have taken up the challenge to build a device that cleans the air - the ViroPower.

TÜV Rheinland - an independent service company that tests, inspects, and certifies technical systems - tested the ViroPower. They confirmed that the ViroPower is safe in terms of UV output and that no UVC light is emitted from the device that is harmful to the skin or the eyes. ViroPower is currently the first, and only air purifier tested and approved by the TÜV during the COVID-19 wave.
